In order to provide our clients with a first class integrated planning service to compliment all of your licensing requirements, Poppleston Allen retains the Consultancy Services of Jonathan Phillips who works closely with the solicitors at Poppleston Allen. Although the planning and licensing regimes are distinctly separate, they do overlap in a number of areas and often both permissions are required to allow for the same end use.

The planning framework is complex to navigate, with every local authority having different policies that significantly impact on the process and planning permission outcomes.

Jonathan Phillips

Formerly Head of Planning at Poppleston Allen, Jonathan now operates as a Consultant and advisor in his capacity as a Specialist Planner in the leisure industry.

Jonathan has in excess of 13 years’ experience in Planning Consultancy including an in-house stint with First Leisure Corporation. Jonathan works with numerous leisure operators throughout the UK including Pizza Express, Bay Restaurant Group, Town & City Pub Company Limited, Whitbread, S&N Pub Enterprises, Spirit Group, Rileys, Marriott Hotels, Esporta Health & Fitness and also a number of betting operators and other land developers.

Jonathan is assisted at Poppleston Allen by Clare Eames and Nick Landells, both of whom have significant roles in planning and licensing advice.
